Spy Myung Wol ep 15 preview

30 Aug

I loved KW/MW’s crazy love and I still love their current angsty love but I’m strangely looking forward more to seeing how Ryu/In Ah develops. Any one with me on finding In Ah absolutely adorable despite her princess fits and not being the brightest bulb around? I expected her to be a strong, intelligent bitch and was disappointed by ep3,4 when it became apparent the ‘intelligent’ bit wasn’t happening and she annoyed me for the following few episodes. But somewhere along the way after I adjusted my ideas of In Ah, she became rather endearing.

Having a difficult week at work with lots of bang-head-on-wall moments but I suppose my work situation still doesn’t compare to that of Korea’s live shoot dramas, and especially not to the craziness that was SPW’s shoot!

Anyhow, expect the angst to double up in the next episode of SPW!

I’m happy that KW and MW got to spend some alone time in the mountains and the short flirty time they had in the morning was oh-so-cute but my heart broke a little for Ryu when his happiness at finding MW after an entire night’s search lasted for about 2 seconds before he spotted KW. Sigh, I sure hope he finds happiness eventually though In Ah isn’t looking like such a good match at the moment. She’s too obsessed with KW and too self centred to accept the fact that he’s simply not interested in her but she gets one brownie point for at least looking shocked instead of gleeful when KW slapped MW.

Ah yes, The Slap. I believe KW is trying to get MW to hate him enough to leave him for both their sakes since his career will suffer from the scandal and she’ll get attacked by his crazy fans. MW risked her life for KW a few times before so he probably thought that her ‘love’ for him is SO DEEP he needed to do something extreme to make her back off. Still, the slap felt really out of place, not to mention overboard.

According to the translation on baidu, MW’s fake parents came up with a plan to kidnap KW on the day of his showcase in order to let her get close to him again. Eh, is MW supposed to save KW from his ‘kidnappers’?

Aigoooo… you’re totally killing me here Sexy Comrade. Myung Wol can have Kang Woo. I’ll take you any day.

The NK team goes on Operation Seduce and Bed Kang Woo with hilarious results (as usual). I think I died when MW took the command to ‘throw herself at KW’ quite literally and jumped on top of him.

While I’m happy to see MW and KW make progress in their relationship, I feel really bad for Ryu. He’s trying so hard to keep his emotions in check but doesn’t look like he’s succeeding. D:
I initially shipped him with In Ah but I’m getting a little tired of her obsession with KW and her endless tantrums. Hopefully In Ah gets some development soon!

Acks. Plenty of angst coming! Short of discovering she’s a NK spy, I can’t believe KW would actually slap MW in public.

I do watch K-dramas on and off when they are on tv, but I can’t remember a single one that I really liked since ‘Stairway to Heaven’ which was how many years ago?? I don’t why but I simply can’t click with K-dramas in the recent 5,6 years. Objectively speaking K-dramas in general are better produced with a better story line than, say a typical lakorn but somehow I end up taking the lakorn.

But finally, a K-drama that has captivated me! I’m so in love with ‘Myung Wol the Spy’ and I wish I had waited till it finished airing before getting started because it’s tough waiting for new episodes… hmm, at least the Chinese subs are out really fast?

I cannot wait till this happens in the drama!! They are so friggin’ cute together.

I hope Hot Comrade (what’s his name in the drama?) gets In Ah in the end ‘cos he’s too hot to end up alone and obviously he won’t be getting Myung Wol.:p

Sanjae is failz

10 Feb

Sanjae, will you stop talking like it was up to you to decide who Yeon soo ends up with? Yes, I know I’m supposed to sympathize with him because 1) he doesn’t get the girl he likes (hey, he was even magnanimous enough to help Min chul get back with Yeon soo after they fight) 2) screechy Sena is stuck on him like glue 3) he found out his father isn’t his father after all 4) the man who raised him actually murdered his birth father ETA: oh wait, he doesn’t know that yet. He only knew that Lee Sr built his music empire by framing his birth father and then taking over his music business.

Fine, you have all the reason in the world to hate your ‘father’ and extend that hate to Min chul but for the last time, you didn’t ‘give up’ Yeon soo to Min Chul. She chose Min chul over you. Period. Even if Sanjae hadn’t help them reconcile, it wasn’t like Yeon soo was planning on running into Sanjae’s arms.

I’m not sure how accurate is this but I’m under the impression that Ryu Shi won (Sanjae) was supposed to be the main guy i.e. get the girl instead of LBH (Min Chul) but the script was changed due to Min Chul’s popularity. Must have read it somewhere all those years back. Anyway, if this is true, I wonder at what point did the scriptwriters decide to switch camps because there wasn’t a single moment where it seemed like Sanjae/Yeon soo was possible. The fan letters for Min Chul must have flooded in by episode 2 or something. Haa. Sorry, it’s just not possible to resist LBH’s charm.

Random: whoever dressed TVXQ for their ‘Keep Your Head Down’ MV needs to be fired. I love the dance but their clothes hurt my eyes.

re-watching Beautiful Days

7 Feb

I’ve watched Beautiful Days for like 6,7 times over the past 10 years (gosh, this makes me feel old) and I still want to punch Sanjae in the face everytime. Seriously, Yeon soo is just not that into you. Can you stop meddling in Yeon soo and Min Chul’s affairs? In epi 11, it’s hilarious how Sanjae stormed into Min Chul’s office and demanded to know what Min Chul did to Yeon soo when he, Sanjae, was the one who stood outside Min Chul’s office eavesdropping on them and purposely called Yeon Soo on her Min Chul-cellphone which resulted in Min Chul’s temper exploding.

A random observation: Victory’s CD store plays Backstreet Boys 9 out of 10 times we get a scene there. Haah.

Yep, I’m getting old alright.
