What? Not enough?

How about now?

I knew from the first few episodes that this was going to be funny but I didn’t expect it to have so much heart. It made me laugh, made me cry, made me laugh while crying, made me squee while laughing … yea, it made me a mad woman. Jdramas have this ability to do feel good touching scenes without making it overwrought and even though you know the situation is idealistic, it still makes you go aww and want to rush in for a group hug.

They make me want to huggles the yakuza. Most episodes are centred around the child welfare cases and Sabashima’s relationship with his wife/underlings/his yakuza boss is often in the background but their love is in the details and it really touched me.

Where on earth do they find so many adorable kids to steal my heart??

Sabashima quit his job at the welfare centre to get back at Shirota and for his final job, he was tasked with choosing adoptive parents for a kid who had suffered serious abuse by his father. Initially, he was half-hearted about the whole thing and instead of properly investigating the prospective parents, he decided to ask the kid for his opinion on what kind of adoptive parents he wanted to speed up the process. Guess what was the kid’s criteria?

Someone who wouldn’t beat me, someone who would give me food to eat, someone who wouldn’t lock me in the closet. Oh, there’s one more. Someone who wouldn’t say ‘I don’t want a kid like you, go and die.’ *bawls* The kid said it in such a matter-of-fact way it broke my heart and made me want to go beat up his useless dad.

Of course, we have our oddball tag team of wimpy yakuza boss and gangsta child welfare officer who never fails to provide the laughs.

Sabashima: This is why people get the wrong idea about us!!!
ROFL to forever when Sabashima’s rival mistook them for gay lovers.

I rate this: 4.5/5
I’ve missed Jdramas and I’m glad this one took me out with a bang.

*pics and gif credit to Matsuda Shota’s baidu forum. A couple screencapped by me*

Just read on baidu forum that Matsuda Shota will be starring in another Liar Game movie but Nao will be replaced by a new character created for the movie. WHAT????? How can my Mr. and Mrs. Akiyama be separated?! T__T

Are you still up? I posted GRGR in case you’re interested in reading it- I know, it’s Friday night.. but I’m pathetic.

4.5/5 for Don Quixote? That is pretty good rating coming from you 🙂 Maybe I shall watch it.. after all, you rated my RM a 3/5 😦

Heeeh, I’ve spent many Friday nights and weekends drama watching and fangirling so I’m with you.
Drama watching is a subjective thing and what hits my buttons might not be your thing but it’ll be great if you find a drama you like from my posts. Have you watched Japanese dramas before?

Absolutely J, drama watching is subjective. What is good is in the eyes of the beholder. I have not seen any Jdramas before, maybe this will be my first one? The reason why I love your blog, and think that it’s sensational, is for one, your writing is witty and fun to read. And two, you offer your takes on why you like or didn’t like something- it’s reasonable- and I respect that. So go on with your bad self! I’m glad I found another blogger that is not afraid to speak her mind 🙂

    Guess what I’m watching?

Rak Mai Mee Wan Tai! Got to ep 2 and loved it so far. Dome is hot- perfect adverb for him. Ploy is beautiful, and together, they are perfect. I had to stop watching for now because GRGR is airing in a bit. Wow, I feel like lakorn heaven has fallen on my lap, 3 lakorns at one time to fangirl about haah. A girl could not ask for more. xoxo Fia

Yay ~ Welcome to the club! Story wise RMMWT is lacking but it’s compensated by Dome and Ploy’s palpable chemistry and I went quite nuts over them during that period. XD You’re welcome to fangirl with me on my RMMWT post (I tagged them under Love Never Dies) but before that, enjoy ep 2 of GRGR!
